Apollo Dating – Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
Apollo Dating ("Apollo," "we," "us," or "our") provides a dating application that connects users based on profiles, preferences, and interactions. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices you have.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Account and Identity Information: Email address, first name or display name, date of birth / age, gender, relationship preferences, authentication identifiers, and Sign in with Apple identifiers if you use that sign-in method. If you sign in with email and password, Firebase Authentication handles credential verification; Apollo does not store your plaintext password.
- Profile Content: Photos or videos you upload, your bio, interests, profile preferences, pet/profile media, and other content you choose to place on your profile.
- Music and Recommendation Data: If you connect Apple Music or Spotify, Apollo may sync music-profile signals such as sampled top artists, sampled top songs, recent listening samples, saved-library exclusion samples, and playlist/blend activity used for music matching and recommendations. Linked music highlights may appear on your Apollo profile and related music surfaces. Provider OAuth tokens stay on your device Keychain and are not uploaded to Apollo.
- Device, Diagnostic, and Usage Data: Device and installation identifiers, push tokens, IP address or coarse network metadata, app version, operating system, crash data, performance data, optional support diagnostics, and usage analytics such as screens viewed, swipes, taps, sends, deck refills, and feature actions.
- Location Data: If you grant permission, approximate or precise location for distance-based features.
- Communication and Gameplay Data: In-app messages, shared-playlist/chat actions, game invitations, answers, choices, results, and customer support or feedback submissions you send us.
- Payment and Subscription Data: App Store transaction identifiers, purchase or subscription status, entitlement history, and restore or validation metadata. Apple handles your full payment details; Apollo does not receive your full card number.
- Verification and Safety Data: Phone-verification status, identity-verification result metadata and provider reference IDs, installation-integrity / App Check / App Attest signals, risk-decision metadata, report or appeal notes, and related anti-abuse records.
- Automated Processing Inputs: Profile text, photos, preferences, music/profile signals, and interaction feedback used to generate compatibility suggestions, recommendation explanations, moderation signals, and ranking improvements.
3. How We Use Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve the Apollo app, including matchmaking, swipes/likes, chats, and recommendations.
- Authenticate you, maintain your session, and secure your account.
- Personalize discovery, shuffle, games, music features, and recommendation explanations based on your preferences and activity.
- Send notifications about matches, messages, or account-related updates (if enabled).
- Support subscriptions and in-app purchases, including entitlement restoration and server-side purchase validation.
- Monitor reliability, analyze performance and usage, debug issues, and comply with legal obligations.
- Generate and improve AI-assisted compatibility suggestions, explain recommendation reasons, and tune ranking quality.
- Run automated and manual safety workflows (for example, scam/spam detection and report triage).
- Detect bots, repeated burner-account creation, ban evasion, and other abuse using device-integrity, installation, network, and behavioral signals.
- Support optional phone and identity verification. Apollo stores verification-result metadata and provider reference IDs, not raw government ID images, document numbers, or selfie media.
- Review customer support and in-app feedback you send us. If you choose to attach diagnostics, Apollo also receives the scoped log data you opted to share with that report.
- Provide optional biometric resume/sign-in flows. Biometric matching happens on your device; Apollo does not receive Face ID, Touch ID, or other biometric templates.
4. How We Share Information
We may share information with:
- Service Providers: Hosting, analytics, crash/performance diagnostics, storage, image processing, push notifications, authentication, purchase validation, music enrichment, and support vendors who help us operate Apollo.
- Verification Providers: Third-party identity or phone-verification providers that help us confirm account authenticity and prevent fraud.
- Legal/Compliance: If required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Apollo, our users, or others.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to confidentiality and applicable laws.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
4A. AI and Automated Decisions
Apollo uses automated systems (including machine learning and large language model services) to:
- Suggest potential matches.
- Generate concise explanations for recommendations.
- Analyze uploaded media, music/profile signals, and safety indicators to improve relevance and safety.
These systems support product features and moderation workflows, but they can be imperfect. If you encounter harmful, misleading, or inappropriate results, use in-app reporting/blocking tools or contact support.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information as long as necessary to provide the service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. If you request account deletion, Apollo attempts to delete or de-link account-linked profile, messaging, private location, push-token, verification-session, and trust records, subject to backup lag, legal obligations, and narrow security or fraud-prevention needs. Where Apollo uses a third-party identity-verification provider, Apollo aims to retain only verification outcomes and provider references, and not raw ID/selfie media.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; use the app at your own risk and keep your credentials safe.
7. Your Choices and Rights
- Access/Update: You can access or update your profile information within the app.
- Delete: You can request deletion of your account/data; some data may be retained as required by law.
- Permissions: You can enable/disable location and notification permissions via device settings.
- Music Linking: You can disconnect Apple Music or Spotify in the app. If you disconnect Spotify, Apollo removes the synced Spotify profile data it stores for your account, clears Spotify-derived recommendation embeddings and music suggestion history tied to your account, and stops refreshing that linked Spotify profile after unlinking.
- Marketing: If you opt in to marketing or launch updates, you can opt out at any time. If you do not opt in, we do not use your email address for marketing communications.
- SIWA/Keychain/Biometrics: If you use Sign in with Apple, device Keychain, or biometric resume/sign-in, you control those settings on your Apple account/device. Biometric authentication is handled locally by Apple’s frameworks.
8. Children's Privacy
Apollo is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. If you believe a minor has provided data, contact us to delete it.
9. U.S. State Disclosures
If you are a resident of a state with specific privacy rights, contact us and we will process requests according to applicable law.
If a security breach involving personal information occurs, we will provide notice consistent with applicable breach-notification requirements.
10. International Users
Your data may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. By using the app, you consent to this processing.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will indicate the "Last updated" date and may provide in-app or email notice of material changes.
